If you've never heard of The Great Smoke then you are definitely missing out! This year marked the 9th Great Smoke hosted by the amazingly generous Abe Dababneh, better know as "Honest Abe" , proprietor of the Smoke Inn chains. The entire Smoke Inn team did a fabulous job this year to create an even "Bigger, better, and badder" event than prior years. The event commenced with a special VIP dinner at Ruth Chris Steakhouse with Jonathan Drew and Marvin Samel unveiling their newest exclusive blend for the Smoke Inn microblend series, called "The Pope of Greenwich Village". Attendees received a five pack of this delicious cigar, before anyone else on the market. The cigar was a perfect dessert following a Caesar salad, crabtini appetizer, 16oz ribeye, mashed potatoes, sautéed mushrooms, creamed spinach and red wine. The evening was an enjoyable treat before the main event to follow.
The following day was when the real fun began. At it's new location, The American German Club, proved to be a winner for this year's Great Smoke. Live Kiss My Ash Radio broadcasted just outside the gates to begin the morning. The line of VIP ticket holders entered the main gate around noon to begin the fun, with main ticket holders following about an hour later.
With over 45 different cigar brands to choose from, attendees had a plethora of cigars to smoke both at the event and for months to come! Some of the best industry heads present provided ample conversation as guests had a chance to hang out with their favorite cigar makers and reps. But let's not forget about all the alcohol, great food, live entertainment, cigar celebrity dunk tank and bull riding! Check out the video below for my experience at this year's Great Smoke 2015!
As you can see, there was never a dull moment! Hope to see you there next year at this unique and fun event!
